Challenge
A ship repair yard needed a DN150 PN40 flange from duplex 2205 steel for a seawater pipeline. The component had to meet classification society requirements and include a 3.1 material certificate per EN 10204. Delivery deadline — 7 business days.
TMT Solution
We sourced certified material with 3.1 certificate from an authorized supplier. CNC turning of the flange was done in a single setup to ensure coaxiality of the bore and sealing face per PN-EN 1092-1. The RTJ gasket groove was milled to Ra 0.8 μm roughness. Post-machining hardness testing was performed on the finished part.
Result
The flange passed classification society inspection at the shipyard without remarks. Material documentation and measurement protocols met all classification requirements. The yard placed an order for 8 additional flanges in various DN sizes.
