Challenge

A watercraft manufacturer needed regular deliveries of steering columns in batches of 50 pieces per month. The aerospace aluminum components had to combine low weight with high rigidity and corrosion resistance in seawater. Dimensional repeatability across the entire series was required.

TMT Solution

We developed dedicated clamping fixtures that reduced cycle time to 12 minutes per piece. 3-axis CNC milling from a solid 7075-T6 aluminum block ensured optimal material grain orientation. After CNC machining, parts were sent for hard anodizing (25 μm layer) at our partner facility in Silesia.

Result

Over 6 months, we delivered a total of 300 pieces with a reject rate below 0.5%. The client reduced unit cost by 22% compared to their previous supplier thanks to optimized processes and shorter cycle times.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you handle production series of aluminum components?
Yes, we handle series from 10 to 500 pieces per month. For production runs, we design dedicated fixtures that reduce cycle time and ensure dimensional repeatability across the entire batch.
What aluminum grades do you use for aerospace and marine components?
We commonly use 7075-T6 (aerospace, highest strength), 6082-T6 (good corrosion resistance), and 2024-T3 (aerospace, fatigue resistant). We select the grade based on mechanical and environmental requirements.
Do you coordinate anodizing and other surface finishes?
Yes, we coordinate the complete process — from CNC machining through anodizing (hard or decorative), powder coating, to packaging and delivery. One inquiry replaces contact with multiple subcontractors.
