Challenge
A watercraft manufacturer needed regular deliveries of steering columns in batches of 50 pieces per month. The aerospace aluminum components had to combine low weight with high rigidity and corrosion resistance in seawater. Dimensional repeatability across the entire series was required.
TMT Solution
We developed dedicated clamping fixtures that reduced cycle time to 12 minutes per piece. 3-axis CNC milling from a solid 7075-T6 aluminum block ensured optimal material grain orientation. After CNC machining, parts were sent for hard anodizing (25 μm layer) at our partner facility in Silesia.
Result
Over 6 months, we delivered a total of 300 pieces with a reject rate below 0.5%. The client reduced unit cost by 22% compared to their previous supplier thanks to optimized processes and shorter cycle times.
